Never forget who you are at your core, who we are when we are at our best, and the nobility of your profession that your faithfulness to a higher calling serves.

This morning in New Orleans is an unfortunate, horrifying, and terrible event of multiple murder that confirms that evil exists, but serves as a reminder that we are the ones who have chosen to embody "Gold in Peace; Iron in War"; by walking the noble path that places ourselves in harm's way for others.

Let's resolve to continue showing up in heart, body, mind, and spirit for each other, our families, and the people we serve. Cops matter. You matter. Never forget it-not today-not ever.
